Therapy for working parents
When work and family both need you.
You care deeply about your work. You care deeply about your family. Yet it can feel like you’re constantly falling short in both. I help parents in demanding careers step out of survival mode and decide, on purpose, where their time and energy go.

Sound familiar?
Never fully present anywhere.
Maybe you’re:
- Giving everything at work, then coming home depleted and unavailable to the people you love
- Leaving early for school pickup and wondering if you’re no longer living up to your professional potential
- Thinking about work with your kids, and about your kids at work
- Returning from parental leave to a job, and an identity, that no longer fit the way they did
- Carrying the mental load: schedules, appointments, forms, and a thousand small decisions
- Parenting a child with ADHD or anxiety while managing your own stress
“I feel like I’m failing at work, and I’m failing at home.”
Why it’s harder now
Parenthood reshapes your identity.
The routines, expectations, and strategies that once worked may no longer fit your life. If you have ADHD, anxiety, or perfectionistic tendencies, the mental load can feel even heavier, and the guilt of being chronically behind adds up.
Before becoming a therapist, I practiced as a BigLaw attorney. That, and my own experience of becoming a parent, gave me a firsthand understanding of how a demanding career and a family can pull in opposite directions.
What we work on
Fewer impossible standards, more of what matters.
- The expectations you carry
- Examining the standards you’ve set for yourself as a professional and a parent, and which ones are worth keeping.
- What matters most
- Identifying what’s truly important to you, so your time and attention follow your values.
- Practical systems
- Strategies for schedules, decisions, and the mental load, built around your real week.
- Flexibility and self-compassion
- Navigating competing responsibilities without treating every tradeoff as a failure.
The goal
Not perfect balance. A life that reflects your values.
My goal isn’t to help you achieve a mythical state of perfect balance. It’s to help you build a life where success isn’t measured by doing everything perfectly, but by feeling more present, more connected, and more like yourself.
Questions
Questions about getting started.
Can therapy fit around a demanding work schedule?
Yes. Sessions are by video, so there’s no commute, and I’m happy to reschedule on short notice when work or family plans change.
Will my employer know I’m in therapy?
My practice is independent of any employer or employee assistance program, and I don’t share information about you with your workplace without your written permission.
What can I expect in therapy?
Therapy is collaborative, individualized, and practical. We’ll work together to better understand what’s contributing to your current challenges while building skills and strategies you can apply in everyday life. Depending on your goals, sessions may include exploring patterns, learning coping strategies, strengthening executive functioning skills, or developing new ways of responding to difficult thoughts and emotions.
How often will we meet?
Most clients begin with weekly sessions. As you make progress and your needs change, we can discuss adjusting the frequency of sessions together.
Do you accept insurance?
I’m an out-of-network provider and don’t bill insurance directly. Many clients use out-of-network benefits to help offset the cost of therapy. I can help you verify your out-of-network benefits, and I provide superbills for reimbursement. I also use Reimbursify, a service that helps submit superbills to your insurance company to streamline reimbursement.
Using your insurance
How out-of-network benefits work.
I’m an out-of-network provider and don’t bill insurance directly. Many plans, especially PPOs, reimburse part of the cost of out-of-network therapy. I’ll help you find out what yours covers before we begin.
We verify your benefits
Before your first session, I can help you check your out-of-network mental health benefits, so you know what to expect.
I provide a superbill
A superbill is a detailed receipt your insurer needs to process a claim. I provide one for your sessions.
You get reimbursed
I use Reimbursify, a service that makes submitting superbills to your insurance company simple, so reimbursement comes back to you with less paperwork.
Reimbursement depends on your plan and isn’t guaranteed.
Make room to think it through.
Therapy is a place to slow down and decide what you want your work and family life to look like. A free consultation is a good first step.
